Meet the Artists

9oneone

9oneone is the reunification of musical sensations Jimmy Lamont and James Armstrong. Globetrotters, permaculture activists, and brothers from another mother, their music is directed at a worldwide audience with a message of consciousness, unity, and spiritual inspiration. In a time where popular music is most often formulaic and in bondage to power, greed, and ego, 9oneone breaks the mold calling out the State of Emergency in the industry today. Rooted in soul, funk, hip hop, and reggae, these two stars are currently recording in Rappahannock County, Virginia. For 10 years they blessed open mics and shows from New York to Chicago to the West Coast and across the Pacific to Hawaii, with a sexy swagger that is rooted in devotion to love of the Earth and the most high Jah. After a 5 year hiatus, 9oneone brings bass heavy grooves, guitar rich rhythms, and world class vocals to inspire the youth and their elders to turn up and dance to the new universal sound of pop music.

Duane Siler

has lived part-time in the County for almost 20 years and picked up the bass almost that long ago. Duane cut his teeth in the early 2000s as the only electric bass player welcomed by the old-timers at the much-loved and greatly missed bluegrass sessions at McCoy's Store in Stanley. Over the years he's played many kinds of music in many NoVa bands and projects, from rock to blues to country. He looks forward someday soon to playing bass again with the Carter Farm Band and the Misfits Jug Band. He also plays guitar and sings in a singer-songwriter duo, The Improbables. He recorded these tracks on an ancient version of Garageband at his cabin in the F.T. Valley.
